Playing for Paddlefest 2012
Toronto Brass to Play at Paddlefest
Toronto Brass has been invited to entertain the participants in 2012's Paddlefest at Speers Point for an hour on Sunday 4 March, starting at 11 am. The band's conductor, Tim O'Hearn, said he was planning a varied program of music to suit the festive nature of the event.
Tim said he didn't expect the band to try to play while paddling and all players would be firmly on dry land while making music. However, he said, if the band wanted to take part in the 'racing' once their instruments were back in their cases, they were welcome to do so.
Come and support both Paddlefest and Toronto Brass on 4 March.
Toronto Brass win 'Festival of the Bands' 2010
Toronto Brass won the Hunter Regional Championships 'Festival of the Bands' on 13 June 2010, coming first in Division 1.
The band played a wide range of entertaining music, including music from Irish dance spectacular "Riverdance", the "Fanfare of the Bells" and "Moon River". The band featured baritone player Nick Scott in theĀ fiendishly difficult solo "Grand Russian Fantasia", accompanied by the band.
Conductor Tim O'Hearn said he was delighted with the band's performance. "It's great to see the reaction of the audience when the band plays such enjoyable music" he said, "I'm proud of the whole band's playing".
Toronto Brass's next engagement will be the Concert with other ensembles at Halekulani Bowling Club in Budgewoi on 27 June 2010, commencing at 2.30 pm. Come and be entertained by the Hunter's 'Festival of the Bands' champions!
